Interview
Meet Sara and her love for castle parks!
Say hello to Sara Lindström, our grower for the month of April! She is the founder and owner of the company Fingrarna Gröna Floda for one year now, which provides gardening services such as caring, design and advice for primarily private individuals and smaller companies in and around Gothenburg. She lives in Floda, a city which is only a 30-minute drive away from Gothenburg. We asked her to answer a few questions about herself and her company – read her answers below!
What is your greatest passion?
Gardening is my greatest passion in life and I love everything from growing and nurturing plants, to building something using the green and living as material. I love working outdoors in the sun and rain, and it makes me feel alive!
How did you begin gardening?
For about twenty years I have gardened in my free time, first through the Kristinedal’s growers association at Strömmensberg in Gothenburg, and since 2004, in my own garden in Floda. Later, and in order to get the opportunity to work professionally in a garden, I studied a two-year programme in gardening, focusing on health, culture and the environment at Gunnebo House and Gardens (Gunnebo Slott och Trädgårdar) via Folkuniversitet in Mölndal.
How does your dream garden and gardening partner look like?
At the moment, I combine the gardening work in my company with patient work at the speech therapist centre. From the start of April, I will also work a day a week as gardener at Gunnebo Castle and Gardens. To me, that’s just a big dream come true! Imagine growing vegetable plants and nurturing a castle park dating back to the 18th century – it really feels like being part of a true green cultural heritage. Another dream is to garden or farm in the future with other people in some form of integration and language projects.
