Course in growing vegetables – planning to harvesting

Listed by: Viktor Karlsson-Rutgersson

Learn to grow vegetables and take part in the harvest!

On this course in growing vegetables in Gothenburg you will get to know the Swedish vegetable land and learn how to get food from soil to table. Meet uncertain corona times with the shovel in the slopes!

At the Eco Agroforestry Center in Linnarhult, a forest garden is taking shape. Among the rolling hills along the Lärjeån river, edible vegetation is planted in several layers. Against the sky stretches the fruit tree, then the corn and down to the ground grows the potato. In this study circle, we learn about how we succeed in growing vegetables. For 4 weeks, we will learn about planning, soil improvement, sowing and care while getting dirty under the nails.

On weekends May 16-June 10

Every weekend we get knowledge before the focus of the week. We use two afternoons a week to put our knowledge into practical action. With shovels, seeds and our hands we learn with our whole body. It is extra important to be on the weekend, but the greater the participation on weekdays and up to the harvest time, the greater the harvest. Keep your eyes and ears open for more study circles that may have themes such as grafting, tree planting, mushroom cultivation and African cooking.

There are two options for joining:
• You are involved and want to harvest. Pay 300 SEK to Eco Agroforestry Center and attend at least 3 out of 4 weekend hits.
• You join without harvesting. Absolutely free and you get valuable practical knowledge and experience.
